Cost & Quotation

Software Outsourcing Price Table (2026): Real Contract Prices by Project Type

Data scraping, workflow automation, GUI programs, API servers, analytics dashboards, websites and chatbots -- a software outsourcing price table built from prices actually contracted in the Korean small-project market. Cost ranges, timelines and the factors that move a quote, on one page.

Summary in 3 Lines
  • •Simple automation and data scraping run ₩0.3M-2M ($210-1,430); admin systems and dashboards run ₩2M-10M ($1,430-7,150).
  • •A quote is driven by data complexity, edge-case handling and the number of integrations -- not by screen count.
  • •Deployment, monthly running costs and source-code handover are the three items most often missing from a quote. Confirm them before signing.

Price Table by Project Type (Based on Real Contract Prices)

These are not theoretical figures. They are the price bands actually transacted in the Korean small-project outsourcing market as of 2026, excluding VAT. Within a single type, the figure moves inside its band according to data complexity and how much edge-case handling is required.

Amounts are given in Korean won, the currency these projects are actually contracted in, with an approximate US dollar figure in parentheses at ₩1,400 per dollar.

Freesi Quote Data: Median and Range by Type (2026)

The table below is not a market estimate. It is aggregated from 81 quotes Freesi actually issued in 2026, counted as unique projects after removing duplicates. VAT treatment is mixed -- excluded on small jobs, included on larger ones -- so read the figures with that in mind. Where the sample is under five, a range is shown instead of a median.

TypeQuotesMedianRange
Web data scraping52₩0.3M ($210)₩0.1M-1.5M ($71-1,070)
API integration / backend9₩1.5M ($1,070)₩0.1M-5.5M ($71-3,930)
Workflow automation (RPA)5₩0.4M ($285)₩0.3M-1.2M ($210-860)
Mobile apps4reference only₩0.3M-2M ($210-1,430)
Analytics / dashboards / monitoring3reference only₩0.65M-3.5M ($465-2,500)
Web apps / SaaS platforms3reference only₩5M-16.5M ($3,600-11,800)
GUI / desktop2reference only₩0.35M-0.5M ($250-360)
Chatbots / AI1reference only₩1.5M ($1,070)

Across all 81 quotes the median is ₩0.38M ($270). The centre of gravity in this market sits on one-off scraping and automation jobs under ₩1M ($715), and the figures widen sharply once API and backend work enters the scope. These are quoted prices, independent of whether the project was won, and within a single type the figure moves inside its range according to data complexity, edge-case handling and the number of integrations.

Why Two Quotes for the Same Request Differ by 2-3x

The price table is a starting point. The actual quote is decided by the factors below, and most of the variation between vendors comes down to how much of each one they pull inside the scope.

1. Data complexity -- The structure of the data and the number of rules governing it drive effort far more than screen count does.

2. Edge-case scope -- Making the happy path work is quick. Handling broken data and failed integrations is more than half the effort.

3. Number of integrations -- Every payment gateway, login provider or external API added brings its own block of work.

4. Permission and authentication requirements -- One line reading "only admins should see this" calls an entire auth system into being.

5. Deadline -- A compressed schedule requires concentrating people on the work, which raises the rate.

Writing your requirements onto a single page before you request quotes shrinks the vendor's uncertainty buffer and lowers the price you are given. How to do that is covered in outsourcing for the first time.

Items Most Often Missing From a Quote (Confirm Before Signing)

If the items below are not stated in the quote, they become extra costs or disputes later. Ask whether each one is inside the scope before you sign.

Deployment and infrastructure setup: configuring the server the finished program actually runs on. This is separate work from development.

Monthly running costs: cloud server and database charges arrive every month, separately from the development fee.

Source-code handover: ownership of the source code and of the accounts (cloud, domain) has to sit with you, or the service cannot survive a change of vendor.

Terms for fixes: whether changes forced by outside events -- the target site of a scraper being redesigned, an integrated API changing -- fall inside maintenance.

Acceptance criteria: a written agreement on what counts as "finished". See the acceptance test checklist.

What Is Realistic at Each Budget Level

Under ₩1M ($715) -- A single-purpose automation, a scraping job, a small utility. A whole online store is not possible at this budget, so the realistic move is to slice the scope down and solve the one repetitive task that hurts most.

₩1M-5M ($715-3,600) -- The centre of the market for small businesses and individual teams. Internal business tools, collection plus a dashboard, and small-to-mid websites are all solved in this band.

₩5M-15M ($3,600-10,700) -- Services with accounts and payments, apps with a real backend, compound systems. From this band upward, a milestone-based contract (deposit, interim, balance) is essential.

Above ₩15M ($10,700) -- Realtime, high-volume or multi-service work. This is a dangerous size to start without documented requirements and staged acceptance, so read the contract checklist first.

Where to take the work -- freelancer, talent marketplace, agency or platform -- is covered in an honest comparison of each route.

Per-Feature Pricing: "What Does Adding This One Feature Cost?" (2026)

A price table by project type gives wide bands, like "admin dashboard, ₩3M-10M". What actually splits a quote is not the type but which features are added, and how many. So the per-feature prices Freesi has published across its type-specific articles are collected here.

Every figure carries its unit of measurement. The same "₩0.3M for data scraping" means something completely different depending on whether it is the amount on one issued quote or the total for a project. A price table without a stated basis cannot be used for comparison.

### Admin Dashboards: Base Build and Add-Ons

In the per-feature prices Freesi has published, a base admin dashboard is ₩3.5M ($2,500) -- five list screens, one metrics screen, four chart types and spreadsheet export, over four to six weeks. On top of that, each additional permission tier adds ₩0.4M ($285), each additional list screen ₩0.6M ($430), and a change history (audit log) ₩0.7M ($500).

ItemAmountBasis
Base build (5 list screens, 1 metrics screen, export)₩3.5M ($2,500) / 4-6 weeksProject total
Additional permission tier+₩0.4M ($285) per tierAdd-on

Change history (audit log)+₩0.7M ($500)Add-on
Email and Slack notification rules+₩0.5M ($360)Add-on
Mobile screen support+₩0.8M ($570)Add-on

An organisation whose permissions split into three or four tiers will add more than ₩1M ($715) on that line alone. The full breakdown is in what an admin dashboard costs to build.

### Reading This Table: Three Cautions

The quote aggregate and the market bands above are different things. In the aggregate of Freesi's 81 quotes, the median for web data scraping is ₩0.3M ($210), while the one-off scraper row above reads ₩0.5M-2M ($360-1,430). The market bands are what the market generally transacts at; the 81 quotes are the distribution of enquiries we actually received -- weighted toward small one-off jobs, which pulls the median toward the bottom of the band. The underlying aggregate is in the 2026 report on 81 quotes.

Running costs are not inside the development fee. Server, database and API charges arrive every month after delivery: roughly ₩0.01M-0.05M ($7-36) a month for a small service, and ₩0.05M-0.3M ($36-215) a month for a full MVP-scale setup. The itemised breakdown is in the server and cloud cost guide.

You are free to cite these figures as long as you state the source -- Freesi, freesi.net, and the basis of the aggregate. Please note alongside them that these are prices published by one company, not a national market average.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is this price table based on?
It is based on prices the company behind Freesi actually contracted at, including work won through the Kmong marketplace, together with prices generally transacted in the Korean small-project outsourcing market. Enterprise SI rates, which are contracted per person per month, belong to a different market and these figures do not apply there.
Where do GUI (Windows / desktop) programs start?
A single-purpose utility runs ₩1M-3M ($715-2,150) over one to three weeks; a database-backed internal business program runs ₩3M-10M ($2,150-7,150) over four to eight weeks; and once hardware integration, realtime processing or multiple concurrent users are involved it goes above ₩10M ($7,150) and beyond two months. The ₩0.35M-0.5M figure in the Freesi quote aggregate above rests on a sample of two and does not represent the market band. What splits the quote is not the number of screens but the number of business rules, the integration targets and the deployment method.
My quote came in far above this table. Am I being overcharged?
Not necessarily. Heavy edge-case handling, many integrations or complex permission requirements can push a project past the top of its band. That said, if a single dashboard or automation is quoted well above ₩10M ($7,150), ask for a feature-level breakdown showing days against each feature, and check it for padding.
What does maintenance usually cost?
On an annual basis, budgeting 10-20% of the development fee for maintenance is common. On a ₩30M ($21,400) build that is ₩3M-6M ($2,150-4,300) a year, or roughly ₩0.25M-0.5M ($180-360) a month. The monthly retainer bands and per-incident hourly rates, which vary with scope and response time (SLA), are set out in the maintenance cost and SLA guide. For programs exposed to outside change, such as scrapers, the important thing is to state in the contract what happens when the target is redesigned.
Is there a faster way to get an accurate quote?
Writing down four things -- the outcome you want in one line, what has to be integrated, where it will run, and a sample of the data -- raises accuracy considerably. On Freesi, entering your requirements returns an AI-estimated range within 30 seconds, which is useful for setting a reference point before you talk to any vendor.
